What's in the roof?

Many people only realise they have birds in the roof when they are woken up by the noise of nestlings early one morning.

Birds rarely cause the damage that allows them into the roof in the first place. They simply take advantage of decay or neglect. Mostly, they cause little damage and many people enjoy sharing their homes with wildlife.

A few of the species that nest in the roof are quite rare, so you should be proud to have them. If birds in the roof really are causing you problems, the information in these pages should help.
