Black-winged stilts at Neumann's Flash

21 May to 22 June

Binoculars or telescopes available for useRSPB staff on hand to helpDisabled access

Join us on Neumann's Flash in Northwich for your chance to see nesting black-winged stilts.

More usually found in Southern Europe, we are extremely lucky to have these birds setting up home in Cheshire.

Stilts build their nests on the ground, usually close to water where they feed on aquatic insects including water snails, and the larvae and adults of dragonflies, moths, and water beetles.

Only the 7th time that stilts have ever nested in the UK, these elegant looking birds with straight, delicate bills and very long legs that stick out like streamers in flight are a sight not to miss.

Opening times

Friendly staff and volunteers will be on hand Wednesday-Sunday, 10 am-5 pm.
