Symonds Yat Rock is one of the best places in Britain to get up close and personal with the world's fastest animal - the peregrine falcon.

The spectacular viewpoint 400 feet above the River Wye offers fantastic views of peregrines, which have nested at Symonds Yat every year since 1982.

From peregrines to the more recent arrivals of goshawks, ravens and barn owls nesting in the area there's always something exciting to see.

Over a million people have visited us over the 20 years we have run this viewpoint. Whenever you decide to visit and whatever you see on the day, you are guaranteed to have a memorable experience.

The viewpoint is free, but car park charges apply.

Opening times

Friendly staff and volunteers will be at the viewpoint weekdays, 11 am–6 pm, and weekends 10 am-6 pm.

Facilities

There are three telescopes available for you to use, and toilets and a café are on site.
