Gannets displaying at nest

Troup Head seabird trips

17 June to 16 September

RSPB staff on hand to help

Experience breathtaking views of some 150,000 seabirds that cram together on the cliff ledges of our Troup Head nature reserve.

Join RSPB staff every Tuesday aboard Puffin Cruises for a memorable boat trip along this dramatic coastline.

Home to many magnificent seabirds including fulmars, guillemots, razorbills and kittiwake, this unique experience also offers fantastic views of over 1,500 gannets at Scotland's only mainland gannet colony.

Dolphins, whales and seals are also often seen offshore.

We will also be running weekly guided walks for those who want to experience the seabird colony from the clifftops.

For those who prefer dry land and don't have the head for heights, live pictures from the gannet colony will be beamed to the Macduff Marine Aquarium, April–September, with daily presentations given by aquarium staff. On Fridays, an RSPB guide will be on hand to answer your queries.

Price for all Puffin Cruises (including RSPB guided Tuesday trips): Adults £22, Children £12. Price for North 58o Sea Adventures two hour sailings: Adults £24, Children £16.

Opening times

Puffin Cruises run three hour trips on a former fishing boat departing from Macduff. RSPB guides join the Seabird Cruises every Tuesday.

If you are unable to join the RSPB on a Tuesday, North 58o run one, or two hour trips aboard the powerboat Buchaneer and depart from Banff or Gardenstown.
