Aren't birds brilliant > Sites > Raptors in Wrexham This season's highlightsThe four chicks sadly became three, but the views of these magnificent raptors was none the less spectacular. Showing People Birds Officer Des James and his team of volunteers set up in Wrexham Town Centre over six days in June and July. They enlightened shoppers and visitors alike by showing them the marvellous wildlife spectacle of five peregrines all at once, and the family did not disappoint! They often perched on aerials on top of the police tower until the chicks decided to venture a little further - the Blockbuster video store no less! The RSPCA were called to rescue the wayward chick, placing it gently back at the nest site hoping it would stay put until it was fully able to fly. In July, sightings of the family were a little more scarce, but at the time of closing the viewing scheme the family were looking strong and healthy.
