  • Hi, whenever l start a post with comment and photo's included ,and it's all completed and posted, when I want to come out of the page and move onto something else ,l get a box comes up "do you want to leave this page" ,l click yes ,and then for instance if l have posted 4 photo's ,l then have to click the box 5/6 time each time it removes a photo until l am back at the beginning of the post.

This drives me up the wall ,and l have now found it quicker to log out of the forum (so l have to only leave the page once)and then l can log back in again straight away ,and l am not waiting for 4/5 pages to clear .

I am using Google chrome ,and have tried it on Firefox and IE ,has anyone any ideas on this ,l don't think its a fault with the PC as it also happens on my works PC.

Any help to clear this little problem would be much appreciated

    Regards Mick

  • Hi Mick

I only get that message if i've clicked to start a post or using the use rich formatting link to reply and not completed it by posting, so it's a message to say are you sure you want to leave without posting.

Once you've finished your post and it's gone on the forum it should leave that page.

edit..if you're having to click 5/6 times and all it's doing is removing photos and text it sounds like your cursor is still in the text editor window.

  • Hi Alan it should do ,but it keeps coming up again and again until all the photo's have gone and then the original comment ,it started doing this after Xmas , it's no hassle logging out and then in again ,l just thought there might be a simple explanation, and then l thought about all the other strange things that happen on this site  LOL

  • So once you have say just post that reply does it still stay on the text editor and you then have to clear what you've just post?

  • No Alan,it only happens only on an original posting ,if l reply to anything there's no problem,l think l might do a screen shot next time it happens ,then I can add it to this thread , just to see if there is anything abnormal about he box that appears.

I hope l am explaining the sequence of the problem correctly!!

  • That sounds wierd, if it's stopping on that page after you've post then somethings wrong, you should only get that message if you abort a posting

  • Only thing i can suggest other than clearing your cache, browsing history etc is to pick the browser you use least remove it completely and do a new install

  • I've never had that problem Mick, and I've never seen a thread where someone else is reporting that problem. As Alan says, it should only happen if you abort the post for some reason and its making sure you actually want to abort it.

    How weird.

  • As others have said I only get the message when I abort the post or click on the wrong button by mistake. Are you waiting long enough after you've clicked the post button. Sometimes it can take an age for the post to complete and if you tried to leave the page before that you'd get that message.

I also open a new tab when I make a post so that I can leave it to complete and switch back to the main page.

I also open a new tab when I make a post so that I can leave it to complete and switch back to the main page.

That's a good idea TJ.  It takes forever for that buffer cog to stop turning.

  • I took a screen shot of the post I put on tonight  ,see the block in the centre ,I had to do that 5 times before i could get back to the start of the thread!!!!!!

hope this might throw some light on the subject
