new gallery No idea why

Just wondering how I've managed to create 2 Galleries today without being near the computer, (although it was on, with this site up.) Anyone else achieveing things without even trying?

A while back I also joined the community, without ever having left. All a bit odd. Does make me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Yes this has happened to me,thought it was something I had been doing wrong.It might be nice if it put some good pictures in the gallery that I could claim as my own

I've noticed this, too.  Weird, but I don't think it's anything to feel uncomfortable with, it's just this silly website set up.

I just looked, and apparently yesterday I created six galleries! Or the same gallery six times. Oddness.

Feel reasured that its not just me. all a bit odd, are we not loosing it rather than getting better organised - took for ever to find where to post this + yet I'm creating without trying- aiki wish I had some wonderful pics sim to yours too put on then it would make sense!!

Agree with that Osprey,might be some sense in me having a gallery.At least we know it's not just us going barmy.

Yes, I've created 2 without trying!  Thought that perhaps the powers that be were gently  encouraging me in my attempts at taking a decent wildlife photograph!  O dear! Lol!

I've just checked and it seems I haven't created any galleries at all. Maybe the Powers have decided I post too many bad ones!! LOL

I wonder if a gallery is created every time you actually log in with user name and password? I don't do this as I have automatic log in.

Don't think so Sparrow as I apparently created one by remote control on Sunday as well.  Maybe it is where the gremlins are living.

I even had one created without knowing it, definitely gremlins!!

Never log out as I just use my wee screened net book. The kids do have access atm as the big one has died a sudden death!! Have to say they are not at sll interested in creating gallery' though, or making me a new member of the community!! Hey ho, the gremlins have more ideas than I do!!

It seems I created a gallery last Sunday 25 9 2011 by magic.

Hi all, our technical staff have supplied some insight into why this happens, nothing to worry about just a bit of a glitch generated by our efforts to keep the forum ticking over nicely by the sounds of things! Hope this explains it adequately!

Every user who logs into the Community has a personal gallery created for them – even if they only register and then never come back. The quantity of empty personal galleries was having a severely detrimental effect on Community performance. So, to help alleviate the issue, we run a script once a month which deletes all empty galleries. Any user who then logs on after having their gallery deleted, gets it recreated again, just in case they ever want to use it. The reason people see duplicate gallery creation messages is usually because they double-clicked the sign in button – which activates the creation script twice. Sadly community is not clever enough to ignore the second click if it’s done quickly enough.
