Just in time for Mother's Day

In an unusual turn, it looks like one of last year's peregrine chicks has returned to join mum and dad at Chichester Cathedral - just in time for Mother's Day.

Although peregrines have nested at the Cathedral for seven years and raised 22 chicks, this is the first time a juvenile has been seen to return.

While it could possibly be a chick from another Sussex nest, the fact that the parent birds are tolerating its presence makes it likely that it is a returning offspring.

Mum and dad might seem quite comfortable with the unexpected visitor, but we expect he'll be given his marching orders once they start raising a new family.

Join us in April at our Cathedral viewpoint, when there'll be punch-ups, buzzards hanging around, and family squabbles in the nest - there's never a dull moment with Chichester Cathedral peregrines.
