Record-breaking herons

The grey herons nesting in Verulamium Park, St Albans, successfully raised almost 50 chicks last year, a thumbs-up to all the work the local council have done to improve the water quality of the park's lake.

From just three nests in 1995, visitors to our viewpoint were treated to the spectacular sight of 23 treetop 'basket' nests last year.

Join us from 20 February to watch these delightful birds raising their families, and find out what antics they get up to this year!

Can't make it to St Albans? Don't worry, we'll also be showing you herons in Lincoln city centre.
