I think it was OVS brooding and he just left after doing a bit of calling. Baby left alone for about 2 minutes and now EJ is back (think it is EJ). Got a little glimpse of baby no 1 raising his head a couple of times. Bless!

Congratulations! What a little beauty the chick is. Big celebrations today! This puts the Eurovision contest well in the shade! I'll be wetting the baby's head tonight! Looking forward to its brothers or sisters appearances. EJ must be well proud! They will be the stars of Springwatch I bet!

Congratulations EJ - I'm still trying to see it! I need a magnifying glass I think! Hopefully when OVS brings a fish, we will get a better view when EJ feeds it.

I thought EJ seemed agitated and fidgety this morning. That's great news. Hope to be coming to see you all in the flesh/feathers on 9 June. Keep up the good work. LindaR

Hi Guys, EJ is brill, she was excellent feeding the chick (who I think was stood on a few times early on today). It's really good to see EJ eating as well, after weeks of watching her leave to have her meals. Can't wait for David's update and the other chicks.

I've just seen my first feed. So gentle. But I was watching with my heart in my mouth as I was terrified that she would accidently stand on her baby as she started brooding again.

Hi, there. Although my English is far from perfect, I would like to express my congratulations for the team at Loch Garten and, of course, the pretty EJ from Spain. I have been following this breath taking sometimes but always interesting story from two months and I feel now as a part of it. Thanks you so much for this experience. EJ, you are really wonderful. Orange VS, you have proved to be a brave boy.

Congratulations to EJ and OVS on their first arrival this season - and also to the Loch Garten team for providing such great coverage! It was fantastic watching OVS bring in a fish and sharing it with EJ and trying to feed the wee one! Sitting here with baited breath waiting for the next arrival!

I have been watching this webcam for a while, but have only just registered for the blogs. Well done EJ, what a lovely baby. When it's not moving it seems completely camouflaged, but shows itself 'in its true colours' when it's feeding time. Hope the siblings will follow soon.
