The ospreys at Loch Garten have people across the world gripped in their tale of violence, adultery and... well... fishing. More...
Just to let you all know, the second egg has hatched. The chick is still awaiting it's first feed but I am sure it wont be too long.
Update later......

Thank goodness OVS brought a fish in after dark around 22.30pm our first chick tucked in but our second chick had an egg shell on it's head and missed out for a while but EJ sorted it out and they both had a good meal so it all ended up well for the day!
congrats to the proud parents.Looking foreward to the last arrival of third chick.
Just tuned in to see EJ leave the nest and chicks unattended!!! Phew she is back after about 30 secs..was she seeing off intruders? Or just stretching her wings?
Chicks look so vulnerable........
EJ has obligingly taken a short exercise flight so I have seen the new chick for the first time this morning. Wonderful!! It looks strong and head was up looking for food. Sad news, Sandra from Loch of the Lowes. I have been following this family as well. I remember the sadness here last year with the failure of all three eggs but their remaining chick is feeding well and growing. Saw the ospreys from Rothiemurchies on Springwatch last night again with an egg failure. Link from BBC springwatch website for Osprey webcam brings you straight to our lovely EJ!
P3 from West End Primary in Elgin absolutely LOVED watching the second chick hatch. We watched the streaming all day long and were fascinated when the chicks were fed the fish. We are looking at Ospreys as part of our topic on Scotland so this webcam has just been perfect. We are so excited about watching again today! Come on chick number 3 we can't wait to meet you!
10:22 and Orange brings in a fish for EJ, she feeds herself then feeds both chicks, the view from the webcam was incredible as EJ had the decency to stand to the right of the chicks so we could get a good view.
What a joy to see EJ feeding the chicks so delicately. I loved the ospreys on spring watch too. We didn't see any at Loch Affric over the weekend...lots of people waiting, though, with some very serious looking kit.
Thanks Sixy....... I like reading your comments too.....somehow I think we are on the same wave length!! Hi Gsnowy.....I too saw the second chick last night......he/she fell back and when managed to sit up again a piece of egg shell was on its head.... .....is the funniest shot yet!! Can anyone remember the name of the black cartoon chick with half egg shell on its head......That's what it looked like.............
