Binocular strap tip

Not answered This question is not answered

As mentioned years ago by Mr W.E. Oddie  new binoculars come with a strap long enough to control a horse that can result in a whack in the lower extremities.

The ideal length ( personal preferences aside ) is approx two hand widths below the collarbone.

This leaves a lot of slack normally so I allow 3 inches beyond the plastic buckle , cut the strap and melt the end with a match. I then wrap a bit of electric tape around to hold the straps together.

I have the plastic buckles about a half inch from the binocular strap loops (the  metal bits the strap goes around on the barrels)
