Chick trapped in our garden (Bedford)

  • Hi there. First post. I need some advice. We've had a chick stuck in our garden for two days now. His mother (I think it's a Great Tit) regularly feeds on our fat ball and nut feeder and one of her chicks appears to have damage the left wing and is stuck hopping about in the garden. The mother keeps coming back with her brood but there's nothing they can do. We've tried to feed it and provide water but it's very scared. It needs help and I'm not sure how I go about getting some. Should I call the RSPB or RSPCA or who?

Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.

  • Hi Bill,

Sorry to read about the little chick. If you go back on the main RSPB page drop down the box for advice, then click on Injured Birds this might help.It Is that time of year where we will come across Injured and dead fledglings.I also think If you ring the RSPCA there Is a message about sick and Injured Birds.Sorry I can't be more help.Welcome to the forums.
