Does anyone know how to stop regular pigeons coming into my garden? I've been feeding the birds here in London for about 6 years and have lovely little birds coming in. Over the years, the pigeons are breeding like wild fire and keep taking over. I don't want to stop feeding all the little birds to get rid of the pigeons. Any bright ideas welcome! I'm happy with the wood pigeons waddling round!
Hi Sarah have you had a look at guardian feeders..they are cages that let small birds through but will keep pigeons out.

Hi Sarah,
I had to get rid of mine because of neighbour trouble. I stopped feeding any seed mix that contains cereal to start with as that is their preferred food. I removed my bird table and another flat feeder. I did not put any food on the ground. I put a small tray of food on the front lawn away from the back garden, which they used instead of the back garden. I then removed this. Voila!! No pigeons. They dispersed and haven't come back. I have now started using flat feeders again but will never again feed cereal crops.
Good luck.
Cheers, Linda.

I put feeders up for the smaller birds, pigeons stay on the table. Although the smaller birds to like the table too, and will squeeze in between the pigeons. But they are good a hoovering up the crumbs.

The pigeons attach themselves to the caged feeders, which they cant get into and shake them! The food shakes down to the ground and 20 pigeons go and catch the food below! Whatever I do they are clever enough to find a way!
I find the woodpigeon and collared doves stick their heads through the ground feeder sanctuaries and eat the food the starlings spill. They seem to eat everything - not just cereals.
I despair of ridding my garden of them though the doves are very jumpy and leave it they see me through the window. Can't think of a way to exploit that at the moment.
