hello, Been viewing Jupiter & Venus very bright in the sky last few nights. Sky had been over cast but still visible through between breaks. Sadly living in town light polution, these days very rare to view a decent night sky. I can say I have the ability to navigate using the stars.

David

Excellent sky over large parts of Britain tonight for viewing planets.
Not this bit of sky I'm afraid. Hope it clears later.

Can't see our hand in front of us down here in S Wales :-(
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
Really clear in East Midlands tonight. Wonderful views of Venus, Jupiter and Mars, and I hope to see Saturn shortly. Too built up to be able to see Mercury near the horizon unfortunately.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Clear night here
Interesting article of the Jupiter/Venus conjunction.
Completely cloud covered here in Staffordshire, this is typical ! This is why I look forward to the Leonids, it always seems to be the only time it's ever clear here !! Will I see the Lyrids in April ? probably not !! :-)
Will look tomorrow...... I have hope !! :-)
The truth is I'm mad. We are all mad and many are too mad to know the truth.
I was reading about the conjunction earlier tonight Tiger..... my hope has not diminished !
I notice that Saturn is now close to the bright star Spica. It was last close to Spica in 1982.
There was the most amazing gathering of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Spica in the sky. They stayed within the field of view of a 35 mm lens for many months. I took lots of pictures at the time.
Here is what the gathering looked like:
Birdie Wild I was reading about the conjunction earlier tonight Tiger..... my hope has not diminished !
