I had half an hour spare before I came to work this morning so decided to brave the rain and fill up the bird feeders ( I have a few!). Whilst I was doing that I had the pleasure of a visit from a little Long Tailed Tit - literally 3 feet away from me. Then I went into the kitchen and waited . . and waited . . and then they came - Sparrows, Coal Tits, Blue tits and my little Robin.
And then Mrs Blackbird with 1 baby.
Well worth getting wet for.
Sue
Sounds well worth it sue
Arent those ltt just gorgeous little birds
Andrew
They are so very pretty. Cant believe how tiny they are. I just stood very still and he carried on feeding. He was aware of me being there but it wasnt until a gust of wind blew my hair that he flew off lol.
Its great isnt it when they are so confiding like that
Saw a few last week when home and yes they are so tiny and delicate looking
Couldnt believe what I saw at the weekend - Great Spotted Woodpecker on the peanut feeder. Only ever had 1 in my garden before and that was a few years ago. Didnt get a photo but saw him through binoculars as he was at the bottom of the garden. Colours are so vivid arent they?
Get them at home in the garden but ive yet to see one my son also got a pic of a young green wood pecker on a post at the end of the garden
Life isnt fair sometimes :-)
Are you still in the middle east Andrew? What the wildlife like there?
