This is the sort of winds im talking about!!!!!! this just happened about 1 mile away.
Wow we not having it that bad...yet.
3 yachts broke moorings, 2 got taken down river and this poor yacht was blown straight onto the beach. another dragged moorings so its slamming into its neighbour! these are several ton yacht..... my poor blackbird is a mere couple of ounces!!! shes tucked away safe in some bushes at the mo... pray she stays there!!!
Blimey riley!!!
Gosh - it's obviously just a bit breezy here in notts then! Hope your little blackbird finds somewhere warm and dry for the night.
fledgling has gone quiet! probably for the best. still in the same bush. mum and dad are still watching over, not too close though as to draw attention to the wee one! ive left out extra worms and suet... fingers crossed it makes it through the night. ;-)
Wish my eggs had survived! Thanks for sharing.
Update.... wind has died down, and the wee blackbird has made it through the night and made it back to its original nesting tree xxx
That's good news FB after watching the birds on the feeders in the torrential rain the other day i think once they have their full feathers they stand a good chance of survival.
I have a friend on hols in Cornwall at the moment. Apparently he got some emergency supplies when the weather warning came - a loaf and plenty of lager! Glad your blackbird survived FB.
