hee hee - flanges are always good for a sulky look! and my word Sparrow - what a lot of beak to look sad with, and actually the hunched shoulders just don't help ;(
Oh, that poor little magpie. He looks depressed! Baby blackbirds are good at looking sad/sulky. Here's one of our rehabees from 2007.

I am currently reading a book about dog behaviour and one chapter on how to read facial expressions and other body language... if you excuse the pun, its been an eye opener and if I have learnt one thing it is to....sorry another pun...never take anything at face value! I suspect all these birdies are really happy, they are just looking sad to get your attention and maybe even food!
