It was well worth watching, some nice photography.
birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,just enjoy it while you can.
Hi Roger yep really enjoyed it..and the bit about the tree planting has given me a link off the website for decent size Alders so may have natural food for the finches next year.

I agree Linda, nice to see programmes like this, very enjoyable, should be more like this
Yes, loved it. The ptarmigan are incredibly hardy; I saw some in the Cairngorms a few years ago, it's really difficult to spot them because they blend in so well with the snow and the rocks.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Hi Alan, always pick up little tips in programmes like this, nice to see, very educational
The programme before, about insects and what plants to have in the garden was good too. I've picked up some good ideas from that. Love having bees and butterflies in the garden!
Great show, just loved those owls my favourites of the year
Enjoy the world around you

When Kate Humble was helping plant that tree did they put it in the ground still in the pot? I thought the man said to dig a square hole so the roots could run free :)
Hi Rachel,if you want to attract bees plant Borage,it seeds itself and can be a bit invasive but bees love it,plant Hebe as wel
Rogerl
Thanks Roger. I'll add that to my list, I've never grown it before, but have had hebe in a previous garden which was really nice.
visionvalue, it looked to me as if the tree was planted in the pot! The hole wasn't deep enough either.
Chris Packham growing on you eh. Nip down the chemist for some ointment. Loved Winterwatch, Kate is infectious, but I don't need any ointment.
Take care all, Stich.

Great programme always enjoy watching these.
Its just a shame that its always on so late + on a school night so the tinies some of us have don't get to watch - can't get them to sit + watch iplayer quite the same ;-/
Loved the ptarmigan + the seo's.
Always think springwatch should be on earlier in the year but they said the end of May!!
A wee bit of ointment might be needed here!!
