More feeders and more birds
HAZY
Purchased another sunflower heart feeder and fixed up another make-shift ground feeder and guardian as the RSPB one has proved so popular with the smaller birds; I also put out two feeders filled with fresh sphagnum moss to give the birds some extra nesting materials should they need it. Had to remove...

Valentine prezzie for the birds & Blackbird short video clip
HAZY
Well it is Valentine's Day so whilst hubby and I were out at the local garden centre we decided to buy a gift for the birds instead although it would have been cheaper to buy me a diamond ring LOL We ended up purchasing a huge 10 port seed feeder with metal perches and within 15 mins. of putting...

Business As Usual And The Fieldfare Is Back
monkeycheese
The thaw has started here and the snow is rapidly falling from the trees. I spent an hour sorting out the feeders and putting out pastry in the trees. Mrs BR was in the garden chasing BT's and BR was off in the distance singing loudly at the top of a tree, although he did return to have a cold bath...

Cleaned all the feeders
BirdFeederUK
I have just spent the afternoon cleaning all my bird feeders and feeding station and have also attached a squirrel baffle. All as good as new ready for the cold days where more birds will seek food in the garden.

How to keep crows and jackdaws off your bird feeders (but still let them share nicely!).
Lucydot
Awoken by cackles and gleeful shrieks outside the bedroom window, I looked out early one morning to see a dozen or more crows and jackdaws swinging on my bird feeders and 'drinking' the contents . I spoke later with a neighbour who had experienced the same problem and because of this she had...

This is my first post, as I've just joined Took this with my camera resting on a slatted window looking out to the back garden. Had just put out some fat balls and nuts into hanging feeders on my bare lilac tree. Hope you like it,

Show us ya feeders!
Tern
People here share their pics of lovely birds, but how about your feeders!? Whether it's just one peanut feeder or a 'feeder tree' I think it'll be interesting to see other people's feeders :) AND, people useless with cameras(ie ME) can contribute too, because feeders don't...

Don't use flip-top feeders!
Chookie
Have just thrown out my flip-top seed feeder. Bigger birds have no difficulty in flipping up the lids - the rain gets in and the seed gets soaked. Much worse...I had to rescue a greenfinch which had reached down for seed from the open top and was trapped inside. Ditch these things - they are dangerous...

Blue tits arrive in abundence !
Neil
Hi all !!! Today with pleasure i noticed a flock of about 20 blue tits arrive together with some long tailed tits (6 or 7 of). They all went straight to the fat balls and peanut feeders. I'm off out now to get some bird food and try to get a lense for the camara as it disapointing not beign able...

Feeders, food, and feeding methods
Sparrow
There has been a lot of chat on various recent threads about feeding birds, and I thought maybe we could share the ways we feed our birds. I have: 1. Sparrows Corner – immediately next to a leylandii hedge and a wooden trellis. A mesh tray on the trellis with my own yukky mix of seed, peanut...
