Hi
i have just started a blog to try and learn about nature and birds and encourage them into the garden. `Its quite an expansive area and i have no knowledge whatsoever. If any of you out there would like to take a look at my blog and let me know if its on the right lines that would be brill. Its a bit of fun but could very much help nature in my area and if everyone did their bit, we would have so many more birds in the garden. I have just put a picture on the blog of a bird that is in my next box but i have no idea what it is. any suggestions?
cheers

Hiya thruthespyglass welcome to the forum from Sheffield.
What a great blog..well done
For the birds what sort of feeders do you have?
I would say the bird in the box is either a Blue tit or Great tit.
Regards Alan
My photos are here and here
Hi and welcome from Lancashire!
I think the rooster is a blue tit - he looks just like my roosting blueys.
Loved the blog!
Tell us more about what you provide and what birds you have visiting.
Cheers, Linda.

Hi Doggie i have managed to get a couple of shots of the bird in the nearly day light and it looks like a great tit - well as much as i can tell from the markings and my book.
Hi Sparrow i have managed to get a couple of shots of the bird in the nearly day light and it looks like a great tit - well as much as i can tell from the markings and my book. Will be updating my blog later with more bird stories.

HI
Loved the photos you have some excellent shots, i will have to show my husband
The blog looks good and is certainly an entertaining read. Loved the shot of the fluffed up bird in the box, gives a real insight into the secret lives of these guys that we seldom see.
Andrew
Hi andrew
loved your site as well. My husband has tried for so many years to get a photo of a kingfisher. Yours is fantastic
thruthespyglassMy husband has tried for so many years to get a photo of a kingfisher.
He is not on his own i've been trying all year lol
Whenever we go out he says keep your eyes peeled for a kingfisher. we even got a book telling where you could find them but alas no joy.
I've got one about 500mtrs away from me, i go for a walk every day and see it quite regularly so one week i had a hour every day on my way back home stood behind a tree overlooking a pool where i've seen it with my camera ready..did i see it...nope lol
Just keep trying when you least expect it that opportunity will come normally when the camera is at home.
