Dyfi Osprey Project website -Tracking Einion, Dulas and Leri
IanH
Hi all, not sure if this has been mentioned on here or not but I was just reading one of the chicks from the Dyfi migration diaries and its seems that Einion has had a bit of an adventure at sea! Thankfully after 29 hours on the wing he made it back to land not far from where he started! You can follow...

Ain't no stopping her now...
Laura Stevens
After a rather slow start, there's no stopping Tore as she storms ahead of Bynack and big sister Rothes to hit a rather exciting journey milestone. To find out more check out the latest post on the Loch Garten osprey diary .

Migration mysteries...
Hannah
This time of year sees lots of migrants both leaving and arriving at Leighton Moss so why not come and join us for a Wednesday walkabout and find out about the amazing travels of our birds at this time of year. On yesterday's walk we spotted a couple of common terns divebombing into the pool in...

Re: Poll time - returning migrants

Thank you for taking the time to vote and comment. The swift came out on top closely followed by the swallow with the osprey in third spot. We won't be seeing the swifts for a little while yet but already reports of swallows are trickling in such as the one at the Portland bird observatory...

Satellite Tracked Ospreys - Aug 2010-Feb 2011
Sue C
This thread replaces Satellite Tracked Ospreys March-August 2010 It has been set up to follow the Autumn 2010 migration of ospreys tracked by satellite, other than those from Loch Garten. Comments about the travels of Rothes, hatched at Loch Garten in 2009, should be posted on the “Tracking...

Re: ospreys
John B (not the sloop)
Hi Brenda Ospreys show up in all sorts of surprising places during migration. Anywhere there's a body of water with fish can attract them - so not massively unusual to find one in Northants. J

The Osprey World, as only they know it!
jsb
This new forum is intended to help us look at the world though the eyes of the ospreys. I was moved, as I am sure many others were too, by the BBC Autumnwatch programme last week to consider what Simon King said about the lessons we could learn from the fact that these birds have to be protected in Europe...

How to put a smile on your face

I love to make the most of the weekend. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy working for the RSPB, but you can't beat that feeling of coming in to work on a Monday morning knowing that I got out and about at the weekend, - preferably having been somewhere fabulous and seen something to keep me smiling...

Re: Possible Osprey sighting?

According to my RSPB Handbook of British Birds (which I got free when I joined the RSPB and has been my Bird Bible ever since - thanks RSPB!): "They leave their nesting grounds in mid-August and head south on a broad front. They will stop at good feeding areas and reach their African winter quarters...

Ospreys on the move...and a bit of myth-busting

One of the sites I check on a regular basis is a few miles away from The Lodge. Croydon Hill (in Cambridgeshire) is located at the site of a deserted medieval village called Clopton. This was once a thriving settlement that is mentioned in the Domesday Book, until, it is thought, it was deserted...

It's hard work being a bird
Katie Fuller
There was a delicate, apricot light as we arrived at Gibraltar Point, where Lincolnshire dips its toes into The Wash. There was a wisp of mist hanging over the dunes but the sun saw through it and lit the saltmarsh from the east. We explored the dunes, watching for signs of life. It was early morning...
