Brenda H:
there was no way I was getting out of my warm, cozy bed !

I did get up about 3 AM and the moon was clear of clouds. I tried a picture but couldn't get the focus or definition with my compact. Well done SB. :-)

FP, I think it was great that you even thought of trying at that hour. Should be a moon tonight before the rain returns. Here's hoping.

Brilliant SB! nice view of detail, moody looking to. first class.

For viewing or photography right place right time is everything. I'd rather be in the right place with poor kit than have the best kit and be in the wrong place.

Wonderful shot SB - very clear you can see so much detail

FP - you're mad! but 100/100 for even attempting it!

Brenda H - I'm  with you all the way about getting out of a cosy bed!

No hardship for me. I'm an insomniac and it's good to have a distraction in the wee hours :-) Besides my partner was snoring and didn't respond to treatment!...................now there's another subject for discussion..................

Thanks everybody for your lovely comments about my moon.  :-))

When I looked out of the window this morning at 9.10 the moon was still up in a clear blue sky.

Here it is then in daylight!

... and  on Martin Down this afternoon, I saw a sunset at about 4pm.

I saw some birds today too - more about that in "Where to watch wildlife"

Lovelt photos SB. I always prefer photographing the moon on a morning - so does the camera, much less "argument" about shall I or shan't I while I develop a severe case of camera shake!

SB, lovely photographs. thank you.

No hope of any photos here today. It has been raining since late yesterday afternoon. Even large hailstones last night. Tomorrow forecast dry!

The sky at about 4 PM looks like my house is on fire!
