Hi Meerkat, I have some agapanthus in pots - they like to be pot bound- . I usually cut stems off towards end of season. Not sure if it is the right thing to do. They can be divided in springtime. Sacha

Hi Tim, Whilst coffee does contain nitrogen which is beneficial for plants, coffee is also very acidic and can be detrimental to soil if an alkaline counterpart is not added. Another downside to putting these grinds out may arise from birds eating them, too much caffeine could potentially be quite harmful...
