Hello! Welcome to the Wildsquare blog. This brand new feature lets us show you some of the fantastic things that other children have done so that you can have a go, too. It will give you some interesting nature facts to impress your parents with and some ideas about other things you might like to do related to our survey topic.
This is the perfect time to be out and about looking at trees. The leaves are fully grown and in all their glory, birds are in and out feeding chicks, learning to fly and mending their nests. If you see anything special when you do your survey, don't forget to tell us about it in the comments box when you put your results on the website.A leaf the size of a swimming pool?Have a look at the biggest leaves you see when you do your survey: how big are they? The size of your hand? The size of your head? However huge they are, they won't be as big as the biggest tree leaves on Earth - these belong to the Raffia palm from Madagascar. They can reach 25 metres long and 3 metres wide. That's as long as a swimming pool and wider than 2 children lying down end to end!
