Big Garden Birdwatch

  • I have lived in my house for over 50 years and this is the first time I have a visit from the Fieldfare family.

about 10 or so have been feeding on fallen apples in mine and nextdoor garden.

The competition between them and the Blackbirds is a sight to see.

I live about four miles north of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, is this usual to see them in this area.

  • Welcome to the forum from me on the other side of the hills in Lancashire.

They haven't turned up in my garden yet. Sob.

  • Thank you Alan for the info

    Regards Fred

  • I have not had any fieldfares in the garden but a flock of redwings have been roosting in the tree at the bottom of our gardenfor the last 2 weeks

  • I have had 4 Fieldfares and a couple of Redwings during this snowy time all the way down here just north of the M25.  Fieldfare are very bossy and are stroppy with the blackbirds.  Great viewing from a warm livingroom...
