Is this a blackcap? I live in Pretson. There were few of them flitting through the trees and there was a beautiful song

Looks like a male Blackcap to me, I get several pairs visit my garden.

Its a very good bird to identify the male and females, the females have a brown cap! Apparently the ones I have had in the garden all winter are European and may be going back. Hopefully I will get some British ones in their place :-)
As Maria says the female has a brown cap. Just so you know what to look out for here's a photo.
