Intersting about Jays as we had them for the first time in our garden this year! They are around though not in the garden till now. We also have 2 large oak trees in the garden and the acorns were very deformed and looked like Brains, although they were plentiful! Ialso saw 1 Siskin in the garden for the first time. We live in a rural area in East Kent.

Forum post: Re: Is the Big Garden Birdwatch a waste of our time?

Paula, I couldn't agree with you more! It really makes you take notice of what's in your immediate surroundings - much better than the TV.

Forum post: Re: The results are out

Thank you Alan!

Forum post: Re: BIRD SIGHTINGS SCARBOROUGH YO12

Hi Bosley welcome to the forum from me in Barnsley.

Great description of your situation - I almost feel I'm there when reading it. Keep an eye for any more around, I have just had another three lots of Frogspawn in my pond so hopefully this will be successful, the first lot was a bit too early I think, but there is still time. There is a shortage of ponds and Frogs and Toads need ponds but so many people move to a new property and take out the garden pond, which is so sad! That happened near me recently two houses when they were sold the new people moved in and took out the garden ponds!! At least mine is still here so I think thats why I have more Frogspawn this year!!

Forum post: Re: KINGFISHER

Glad you enjoyed it!
