New to my Garden
JG1985
Over the last couple of days we've had a new visitor with the usual blackbirds who visit to feed. I assume it is a blackbird, but if anyone knows otherwise, I'd love to know. He tends to be partial to peanut butter on toast!

Re: sparrow hawk

I think I am right in saying that the 'P' in 'RSPB' stands for 'Protection'. None of us who support the RSPB are in the business of picking and choosing which birds to protect particularly when it is a case of a bird acting naturally. Humans are certainly violent and cruel...

Snow on the way....

lack of wild bird sightings
trevor eden
We also live facing open farmed countryside . We thought that when moving here 5 years ago the area would provide us with views of many wild birds, but this has proved to be the opposite. In the city of Nottingham the gardens have wild birds, foxes and even squirrels. Here we don't see any sparrows...

Why no 'no food' option in BGBW?
@PaulSeligNature
My mother does not put out any bird food., Entering data from her BGBW, I was given the choice of multiple foods, none of which applied. At the end, I am told this question was 'unanswered', did I want to change the details. Thinking I had missed an option I went to change the details, but...

We thought Robins only fed on the ground - is it common for them to hold on to hanging bird feeders? we have quite a clever one!

Re: Observations & warnings

We echo your concerns Pauline and we do not sell any of our products with mesh bags. We have seen many birds injured through getting entangled with the nylon mesh. We have a warning in our bird feeding literature and on our website . If you do buy fat balls with mesh bags dispose of them safely (burning...
