And now some love for Little Schools' Birdwatch, this time from Oldham...

"Once again our Pre-school has taken part in the RSPB Little Schools' Birdwatch and again the children loved this activity. We left lots of food, nuts and water on the bird table in our garden for weeks before, to encourage the birds to come into our garden.

The week before we made binoculars to use on the day. We made a bird hide by covering our outdoor climbing frame with tarpaulin and we took clip boards and pencils, along with the charts you sent us, to mark down the number of birds we saw.

This all took place on 31st January 2011. We took pictures of birds home to colour in and we made our own 'blackbirds' by sticking feathers onto black card cutouts and adding shiny wings. We have also put a display on the wall of the bird pictures you sent us and photographs of the children in the 'hide' and with their binoculars and clip boards.

The children were all really enthusiastic and are still talking about it today. They can't wait to do it again!!!"

Did your school/nursery/pre-school take part and have lots of fun? Please do tell us below if so...
