Many of you will be gearing up for the start of your new school year, a new class, maybe even a new school or role within your department, and will ultimately have a lot to think about and plan in the months ahead. I hope you will find what gets posted on these pages now and in the coming months useful for your planning, and in engaging your new students with nature and the wildlife that surrounds them.

If you are considering ways of getting to know your new classes, why not discuss any animal encounters they may have had over the summer, native or exotic? How did it make them feel? It’d be great to hear how wildlife savvy or friendly your students are, and if any of them have been wildlife spotting or stepping up for nature this summer.

In a couple of weeks I’ll be blogging about a new schools resource, so it might be nice for your students to start thinking about the nature around them and how they contribute already. Please post if you have any nice stories from your students, or would like to contribute some ideas, including any pictures, stories or poems you can share.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
