This Red deer took exception to me sitting on a trunk in his patch and came over to let me know I wasn't welcome - from about 6 feet away! Have to say i was a little nervous, but there was nowhere I could go without stepping out into the open so I just sat my ground. Luckily having voiced his opinion...

This Red deer was rutting in Richmon park back in October 2010. He was certainly the boss in that neck of the woods.

This picture was taken in Richmond Park early one morning during the red deer rut. This was one of the dominant stags bellowing out a challenge to his rivals to keep clear - or else!

This was taken on a misty morning in October in Richmond park. The Red deer were in full rutt and this Stag had been involved in some serious action just a short while before, seeing off a rival. But then he returned to his family for some quality time.

This red deer stag was king of the hill during last year's rut in Richmond Park. Every now and then he would bellow out a challenge to his rivals. I managed to catch him head on in this shot!
