Seal Pup at Donna Nook Lincolnshire Calender 2013

The location for this photo opportunity was Blashford Lakes, near Ringwood, Hants. I had visited these lakes several times previously without any luck, then one morning," hey presto" there it was, a wonderful and rare Bittern, my luck had changed and this picture is the result. I was so pleased...

"Just" a sparrow, but isn't it cute? This baby sparrow had just left the nest and took shelter in my old Virginia Creeper where it stayed until the parents came and encouraged it to leave.

A Robin (no, really) taken at Portland Park in Kirkby in Ashfield during the day and a half of snow that we got.

A female Kestral visited my garden in early February when we had the snow, I had just replenished the front bird table, so it was full of birds.... she made her selection and sat on an old well pump and savoured her lunch ..... She sat for an hour until every scrap had gone, then had a little doze before...

Couldn't believe the colours of this September sunset in which made the local news.

This is a shot of some lovely red lilies filling the full frame. They have an almost surreal appearance. This shot exactly as it came from the camera. Again, using my FujiFilm S5600.

This photo was taken using a long zoom through the vegetation (which gives the nice green hue on the picture here and there). The light on the feathers is great, and getting a balance between light and dark with a white subject is very tricky. Taken at CenterParcs in Sherwood Forest. For the "teccies"...

This photo was taken at Blashford Lakes, nr. Ringwood in Hampshire. I had been looking out for the bittern for some time before it emerged from the reeds.

This was taken near Tobermory on the beautiful Isle of Mull, an incredible place full of incredible creatures. (taken by Laura who is currently 17)

The early morning sun highlights the intricate patterns of the spiders web in the lush grasses.
