Where has Robin gone?
Joanne
I get Robin's, Tits and Blackbirds in my garden every year but this year I have only seen one or two blackbirds, a few Blue Tits and one Robin (once). I do have lots of Starlings and Sparrows even the occasional Magpie. Are the Starlings scaring them off?, but then again, I have always had lots of...

Very Scruffy Robin
fishears
Hi I have a question regarding a robin that has made our garden his territory. He is by far and a way the scruffiest looking bird I have ever seen. He vaguely resembles a flying tennis ball and appears to be missing a large number of feathers from his head and neck. Apart from that, he seems healthy...

What has happened to the robins round here (Hinckley, Leics)? There was only one which shot in for a few seconds nearly at the end of my birdwatch last weekend. Now we're up to our necks in snow, so I've put out a variety of food including mealworms, as well as the usual seeds and fatballs -...

Birdie Wild
Hi Vivvy, I was amazed too when I first saw a Robin eating off a hanger feeder !! the one in this photo took ages to get the hang of this, I watched him over the course of a few days, once he'd got it though, there was no stopping him !! :-)

SlowMo Birding Action Shots
Zathras
Hi, hope I'm posting in the right area. I've taken a look around the forum and couldn't see much about capturing wild birds in slow motion using high speed video. Are there people on here interested in this area? I've been trying to capture in high speed using a basic consumer...

Robins

Hi all, this is my first post. I have been so excited about the fact that over the last few weeks I have had three robins in my Garden all at the same time , they seem to have a little squabble and then go off to different tables or one will sit on the fence and watch taking its time to choose where...

My Garden Robin
Dynochem
This is my first post, as I've just joined Took this with my camera resting on a slatted window looking out to the back garden. Had just put out some fat balls and nuts into hanging feeders on my bare lilac tree. Hope you like it,

lack of wild bird sightings
trevor eden
We also live facing open farmed countryside . We thought that when moving here 5 years ago the area would provide us with views of many wild birds, but this has proved to be the opposite. In the city of Nottingham the gardens have wild birds, foxes and even squirrels. Here we don't see any sparrows...

Latest Happenings - Last of 2011

Hi Everybody This is the last 'Latest Happenings' of 2011 and, looking back, I think we can say it has been a successful year for RSPB Orkney. These were just a few of the events: There was a positive response to the April outing 'Birding by Bus' which seems to be a popular trip...

Autumn Time at Kinnordy
Kim
You can tell it's autumn time again here at Kinnordy; fallen leaves litter the paths and any leaves left on the trees have started to turn. It makes a beautiful scene from the hides and along the paths, seeing all those red and golden tones. What's even better is that now some of the willow scrub...

A little robin lay stunned in the garden. Quickly locking the dogs away, my sister picked up the robin and allowed it to recover in safety. After a few minutes it flew away to a nearby bush. A magical moment.

Looking out of the window I saw robin as i put out grated cheese for him at dusk. He appears when the rest of the birds go to bed. Then, he had a bath. What a site in the setting sun, splishing and splashing, the water glistening like diamonds

A morning walk at Fort Augustus brought us to an old cemetery, close to the hills. The only sound was birdsong. A woodpecker drumming and a cuckoo calling, joined by song thrushes, robins, blackbirds and warblers. Unforgettable, absolutely priceless!

Every winter a little robin comes to the garden. he protects his territory from other visiting robins and spends time sitting in my shrubs. he is a welcome sight. He teases my husky which amuses us all at no20. A regular visitor to my bird table.
