  • Photo: ...bob bob bobbin' along.

Very shy when I first moved here but he soon got over that. He now lands close by when I am putting the food out.
  • Photo: A Gray Wagtail

Not a very good picture and he hasn't been back again yet. Still, it's another one to add to the list.
  • Photo: A Great Tit

I placed a couple of feeders on an unused rotary clothes line in the garden. Mostly used by starlings and squirrels but this Great Tit managed to get a High Energy lunch.
  • Photo: A view from my window.

Taken from inside my living room. The gull appeared just as I had set the camera up on the tripod.
  • Photo: Adult Black-Headed Gull

Another one from my living room window. Gull eating a suet pellet.
  • Photo: Blackbird

Mr. B tucking into his five-a-day portions of fruit. Two pairs visit on a regular basis and dispute the territory. Luckily there is enough room and enough food to keep them all happy.
  • Photo: Blackbird 2

A female of one of the two pairs of resident blackbirds.
  • Photo: Blue Tit

Blue Tit on a high energy lunch break. Another one from my living room window.
  • Photo: Chaffinch

First time I had seen a chaffinch in the garden and this one took me by surprise. By the time I had reached for my camera he was leaving.
  • Photo: Collared Dove

Another daily visitor to the garden. Usually hangs out with a flock of wood pigeons but sometimes dines alone.
  • Photo: Fieldfare.

I didn't even know what this was. Luckily I had recently joined the RSPB and was able to use the Handbook.
  • Photo: Finches and Fieldfare

My first sighting of Greenfinch in the garden. I didn't see the Fieldfare.
  • Photo: Goldfinch eating dandelion seeds.

At last. First time a goldfinch has stopped in the garden long enough to be photographed. He seems to prefer dandelion seeds to the nyjer seed that has been available for the last six weeks. Quite pleased with the shot which was taken in a rush and through the window.
  • Photo: Gray Squirrel

How anyone could begrudge this little chap a few peanuts is beyond me.
  • Photo: House Sparrows Feeding

House Sparrows tucking into the no-mess bird seed. This is a regular sight in the garden. Hope they breed in the spring.
  • Photo: Juvenile Black-Headed Gull

First winter plumage of a blackheaded gull in my garden. This was taken through my living room window.
  • Photo: Long Tailed Tits

3 Long Tailed Tits. One picking insects off the line, one at the nut feeder and one at the fat ball. Lovely sight to watch but not my best photo.
  • Photo: Mistle Thrush gathering food.

  • Photo: Nest Builder

  • Photo: Pied Wagtail

Not a daily visitor but is seen 3 or 4 times a week now.
  • Photo: Song Thrush

At least I think it is a Song Thrush. I am sure someone here will keep me on the right path when I make a mistake.
  • Photo: Starling Pondering

I wonder what he is thinking? A small flock of Starlings were in residence before I moved here; eating the bread and scraps my neighbours put out on a daily basis. However, the starlings now head for the high energy food and peanut feeders first.
  • Photo: White Starling

What does it show? A leucistic starling. Where was it taken? In my garden this morning. Wistaston, Crewe, Cheshire
  • Photo: Wood Pigeon

There are two small flocks resident here. Sometimes they arrive and eat together; sometimes as two distinct groups.
