Another picture from our trip to Menorca this year.  This bird was abundance while we where in Menorca in May  The Salt Marshes we visited had a few of them around and about, feeding, and nesting.  They have the longest legs in comparison to their body.  At one point, I sat for an hour observing 5 of them through my binoculars on the shore line (close to our chalet)  They are such graceful birds and like to remain together as a group.  While the sun is rising in the dusky morning you could hear their haunting calls to one another although they are trying to detect each others movements through the water.  The Salt Water Marshes have the best feeding habitat for them for acqatic invertiebrates and worms.
