In between the RSPB Phoenix Aberdeen Group bird ringing demonstration and back to work on Monday morning.  I had a stroll at VSA Easter Anguston Farm and was lucky enough to see a few kites too.  We read number 70 coming into food put out by the farm.  70 is Don the young male kite from the CCTV nest.  It was great to see him after all the cold weather just a shame it was just me, Belinda from the farm and the dog that were lucky enough to see him.

  • Must pop along to the farm at some point.  Actually saw a Red Kite on the way home from Loch Garten  back to Aberdeen just after Dunecht on Saturday last and then saw one today coming back to Aberdeen from work in Moray, just after Inverurie on th eA96.  Also saw one the other month from the train near Stirling.  It's nice to see them without going somewhere specifically to see them!  Very exciting!  previous to this, the only time I'd seen one randomly was on the A90 but only knew this for sure when I saw them at Argaty.  Fantastic birds!
