We launched our Green is Working campaign with the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition today. If you live in London – if you’re an MP, for example, on your way to work – then you might see these adverts around tube stations.
The posters and the campaign are all about showing politicians our support for a green economy, and asking them to stand by it and keep on investing in low carbon, green jobs.
The RSPB is backing this for one simple reason - we need to cut our carbon emissions to save nature. If we fail, scientists warn that up to a third of all land based species could be committed to extinction by the middle of this century.
But there is some good news! There is growing evidence that taking action to limit climate change is not only good for the environment and wildlife, but it is also good for our economy: Green business accounted for a third of the UK’s economic growth last year and already employs over a million people.
