Spring is here! I'm so excited, the hills are coming alive again with our breeding birds beginning to return to the fells.
I should start the 2012 breeding season blogs by introducing our new seasonal warden here in Bowland. Mick Demain has joined the RSPB team and brings with him extensive knowledge of the local area and its birds, so he will be a real asset to the team, nest finding and monitoring the breeding attempts of not only harriers but peregrine and merlin too.
I should be putting up blogs much more regularly from now on, so keep coming back to find out how the season is progressing.
