  • I first spotted an Osprey in a dead tree, on the marsh just north of Slepe Farm on 7 April  where it remained stationary for nearly three hours. I returned on 10 April to find an Osprey in the same tree and observed it from 10.00am to 12.30pm when it took off and headed NNW. On 14 April I watched it [again in the same position] from 10.50 until 11.45am when it took off and headed NNW once more. Is this the same bird? If it is then it has been present for 8 days, which may be significant. To assist in identification, this bird appears to have a distinctive diamond shaped brown patch on the upper breast, slightly right of centre. I would be glad to hear further news as it would be great if this Osprey decided to take up residence at Arne.

    Regards,

    Ironside

  • Did it look anything like this one?
