There was an almightly squabble over food a while ago - scruffy head won the lizard which he swallowed hole and then had to fight to get the tail end in - so funny!!
My photos here (eventually)
Empty nest today but have seen daddy kestrel twice trying to deliver food parcels - much kerfuffle from outside judging by noise! Still good images. Have one kestrel chick looking out from cliff hole nest here and parents are still bringing food - unfortunately bad weather means they are nest raiding again!!
See the little one back in nest - sheltering from the wind perhaps - still got a fluffy scruffy head
Just decided to check now Wendy and they're sheltering from rain and wind.....
Thanks for the updates all, see there are still 2 in the box at the moment.
good job you captured that shot 'cos there they were - gone!!
and back again - fiddler's elbow or what??
and now there are three - bonus views!
I see 4. And the rain keeps coming...
I just saw four too - can anyone do a capture shot - 'cos I can't
I was meant to be heading to Arne today...rain stopped play..:-(
Capturing the Light with an original perspective displayed in every Photograph..perhaps
better day forecast tomorrow - if you go can you get a shot of the kestrels outside the nest box - I saw one from Michael Wilson from last year
I wish I could get so close to the box..its on a farm and no entry..you can see the box from a field but long way off...Dom's the man that gets close..cmon Dom come back and get some Kestrel chick photographs..:-)
Are you listening Dom? Empty nest again today so they must all be hanging around outside. Forget what I said about better weather today - it's pouring & miserable again here in East Kent!! Disappointing about my kestrels here too - looks like only one fledgling which was flying yesterday but is now hiding out in nest hole 'cos of the rain. Looks to be only one parent - neighbour of mine told me the other day that he found a dead kestrel in his garden - apparently uninjured- about a couple of weeks ago. Shame he didn't mention it at the time so I could see exactly what sex it was - sad!
Good afternoon everybody. Just tuned in and two chicks at the front. Don't know if any in back of box.
I wish I could get an idea of how big they are.
