Another shot of the same bird looking for its dinner
Oh I think I must become a member of the Hobby fan club! Keep these fabulous photos coming nikon4Pete and Dom - just love them - thanks.
You can get reasonably close to them once you spot them..I need some camoflage clothes like Dom..:-)
Oh is that his secret - no wonder we've never seen him! I just love this photo and keep looking at it.
Its for sale if you want it....only joking..:-)
I bought one of Packham's photos but hub says I'm not spending that much again however good your picture is! Saw him again yesterday evening, Hobby that is, not Packham, but he was keeping a fair distance away the whole time (3 hours!) Would like to get a bit closer but never feel I should stray off the main pathways. Didn't see any bushes on the move so presume you nor Dom were there or p'raps that was why he was keeping his distance!
feel free to use it as a print..
That's kind of you, thanks, I might just do that - or get hub to as I am still very computer illiterate then I can look at him all the time, not just when I have the computer on!
My book says the sexes are similar but just wondered if any experts can tell from this photo?
Hi Pete, hub has managed to upload the photo onto my little digital camera's memory card which I always have with me so I can look at it whenever I want and bring him in with the zoom, too - isn't that really clever?! There's a Hobby in the RSPB mag but he looks fairly browny-red - suppose there are variations.
the coluors on rspb website and in the books are very different from what you see..maybe a young one from last year..but the photographs from Dom and Myself I think they look better...:-)
Glad you used the photograph and it worked ok..
