Taken on 2nd October 2011. This stag was moving slowly through the woods parallel to the boardwalk. He stopped from time to time to 'pose' for me. This image seemed to capture his character better than any of the other shots.

Wherever you look there's always a lot to see at Arne, be it gently grazing sika deer or a speeding squirrel.

Out towards Shipstal Point

Had a great day walking round Shipstal seen lots of deer and at the hide we saw our first Red Shanks.

This sika was in a group in the field on the way back from the hide

I photogrpahed this sika deer and then sat down to change cameras as I found some Fungi to photograph..my friendly deer wander to about 6 feet away from me and watched a couple of people on the boardwalk..then had a sniff at me then wandered off back the way she came..I thought she was going to sit down...

Photograph taken on the woodland walk, looking across towards coombe heath, these two were just as curious about us, as we were about them.

Despite my best efforts at being a tree or bush I didn't fool this Sika hind at Arne.

Took this Sunday on our way back from Shipstall coming along by the fields above the farm. He was seeing off another big lad by standing about 50ft away from him and head lowered bellowing at him. He won!

These ticks are hard to get rid of..

As I was watching this deer he sniffed the rail then used it to scratch his head..

Arne.... The wonderful place where the wildlife live,..... and we just visit. This deer was not bothered by us at all!
