I came over to Bempton last week making a 200 mile detour on the way to our holiday cottage. WHAT A PLACE! Having been on this blog and site emany many times I thought I knew about Bempton. How wrong can one be, nothing can prepare you for the cliffs covered in Gannets Guillemots and Razorbills add a few Puffins and I was in heaven. And it got better we had a Puffin land just below us and collect nesting material and give us the chance of some fantastick shots. I am in a wheelchair and the paths were all ok and a slope back up from the cliffs took two to push. I have an electric scooter but would have had to unload our car to get it out so anyone who like me is unable to walk the site caters for wheelshair users and the gift shop reception area has a toilet with disabled facilities. So having seen my first Puffin I am smiling from ear to ear all the other firsts were a bonus as the Puffin gets a special tick for me. This was my first time to Bempton but rest assured it wont be ny last.
I used to be indecisive................... But now I am not so sure.
A 200-mile detour to come to Bempton - wow, that's amazing! Glad you saw our puffins - aren't they just amazing - and to have one coming so close to you must have been very special.
