Dave these are wonderful. The ones I saw last week were all so distant.
Hi Andrew its a matter of knowing where to go, these were halfway between Bempton RSPB and Thornwick Bay. They were about 10 metres away and I used my 70-300 lens, but I could have kicked myself for not taking my 150-500 and tripod fitted with a gimball, never mind there will be another day, glad you liked them, Andrew.
Puffins arn`t they just great!
Just come across this post.Dave.Great pictures.Have put my foot down as a result. We are not going to Llandudno even if it means having frying pan shaped head!
Hahaha, well don`t blame me, and anyway you can always go to Landudno when the Gannets & Puffins have gone away?
If anyone is interested my club website is www.thephotographyclub.webnode.com & www.davemullinerwildlifephotography.webnode.com
They certainly are Dave. And you've captured their 'greatness' brilliantly.
Brilliant photos Dave
Just a tip for your website link, go to your profile, edit it and look for the signature box, put your link in there and it will appear in every post.

Beautiful photos, Dave! I love the contrast of the puffins against the rocks. Great that you could get so close to them too.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
