Bempton Cliffs , home to thousands of seabirds who live their lives literally on the edge.
Clinging to the narrowest of ledges high above the sea.
Razorbills and Kittiwakes side by side
Guillemots
... and Gannets
Fulmar
Not forgetting the Puffins
Already the Kittiwakes have hatched their chicks on a precarious ledge
Guillemots too have their first hatchlings.
Keeping a watch on all the goings-on are the Peregrines.

I never cease to be amazed at how much I didn't know I didn't know.
Amazing and wonderful photos! Thankyou so much for showing them. Bempton is lovely place, but hostile to humans. The birds however feel totally at home, it fills me with wonder for the natural world that they are able to breed and prosper in such a place.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

Excellent photos Galatas. I like the way you have shown the different zooms to give us a better idea of the terrain.
Cheers, Linda.

The 400 feet cliffs make a great setting for the seabird spectacle. You've really captured the striking nature of the place. Top stuff.
Thanks Linda. I'll add a few more to show the landscape.

Superb selection of shots!! It's a wonderful place! Must return soon! (when we went there was an explosion in pollen beetles and you could barely breathe for the clouds of them!!)

Occasionally, like every natural habitat, insects turn up. But the good thing is, we have lots of birds who like nothing better than an insect snack.
Oh I love insects! It was certainly an experience! :-)

This was my second visit to Bempton. An account of the first time can be found here with more photos of the birds.
If you're from warmer climes , such as Lancashire
It looks a magical place and your photos show it off so well. What's this about Lancashire being warmer? :)
Lot to learn
Brilliant photos Galatas love em all.

The truth is I'm mad. We are all mad and many are too mad to know the truth.
