Wood sandpipers continue to be present at Blacktoft Sands. After a brief two days away last week - a wood sandpiper appeared on first on Saturday and since yesterday we are back to having two present on the reserve. They are now a bit more mobile appearing on marshland, xerox and first.
Numbers of our spotted redshank, greenshank and ruff have grown as the week has progressed. With around 17 spotted redshank hunting and sleeping on singleton. Similarly up to 14 greenshank have been present on this lagoon often hunting up the back left hand channel. All sorts of ruff (55 of them) are around scattered between all lagoons between marshland and singleton.
Our young water rail on townend continues to entertain along with the odd yellow wagtail on xerox and up at Ousefleet.
