Bird numbers this weekend were spectacular! Hoardes of pinkfeet, goldie plover, teal, starlings, roosting gulls and overhead visible migration with skylarks, siskins and pipits made me go all twitchy for the weekend . After waking up far too early...

This was the view for much of the day making for a spectacular first day for our autumn open weekend. This afternoon these pink-footed geese just kept coming and coming with more than 3500 flying over the reserve with some flying directly over our heads...
