Fired a short burst whilst the whitethroat was stationary and to my surprise it took off whilst doing so. I was very pleased to have captured a good image of it in flight - a lovely way to round off our day at the Blacktoft Summer Open Day. Many thanks to all concerned for a well-organised event.

A few reed warblers have now returned to Blacktoft, joining the sedge warblers in the reedbed.
