The Reserve has approximately two mile of marshland fronting the estuary. These saltings are regularly tide washed and have a mixture of fine and rough grassland intermixed with gorse and bramble. These cattle are introduced during the Summer months essentially as a grazing tool to control the marshland...

Large mixed flock of geese seen from hide overlooking flooded grassland. Whereas, currently, they are not on the farm smaller flocks of both species can still be seen in the Solway basin. Best chance of sightings in the Moricambe Bay area.
